Last night I had a dream. I dreamt that there was a creepy girl in a porcelain doll mask with frayed and dirty hair, and a creepy dirty old dress with blood on it and she had crazy horror movie eyes. In a singsong voice she asked me to play and followed me in a slow creepy skip down a dark ally. From out of nowhere she began to lunge at me. But lo and behold I had Ruby’s Knife (from the show Supernatural) and began to fight creepy little porcelain thing off. Suddenly I jolted awake and was in my bed. It was 4AM. So one of my new Year’s resolutions was to start back on my personal blog more, and one weekly thing I used to love to do on my blog was take part in Mama’s Kat’s Pretty Much World Famous Writing Prompts each week. Which of course I haven’t done once. This week I finally sat down and decided “I’m going to do it.” I looked at the writing prompts and saw this one, “Something that made you laugh this week.”
Now, I laugh a lot. I’m not going to pretend I don’t. But as I sat and stared at that writing prompt I couldn’t help but reflect on the fact that, well, this week sucked. There were high points yea, but as a whole, it sucked. It sucked big, bad, and hard. And at this moment as I write this I’m having a hard time thinking of a particular laughable moment from the past week.
Well OK, except for this. Because when I am going through a rough patch I always turn to the boys in Monty Python to help me make light of it.
So yea, crappy week. But THIS. This made me laugh it out.
One of my goals for 2011 is to get back into taking part in the fun writing workshop over at one of my favorite blogs, Mama’s Losin It! by taking part of her weekly writing prompts. This week I made the obvious choice and decided to write “A photo journal entry…show us what winter looks like in your town”. *snicker*
It’s mean, I know. I say that because winter is a little… well different here. Not that we don’t have really cold weather, we do. And not that we don’t see a little snow on the local hilltops once or twice a year, cause that usually happens too. But here we also have this kind of weather during the winter months, Continue reading “Winter: Just the Way I Like It”
So this week’s writing prompt from the Writer’s Workshop over at Mama’s Losin It is 10 reasons I’m glad it’s fall. Pfft.
I say Pfft because it’s a little begrudgingly I write this post considering we’ve had temps topping off at 102 at 7 PM this week. It doesn’t feel like fall and it’s starting to piss me off, just a little. Because I do really love fall. So I guess you could say that this is 10 Reasons I’ll be Glad it’s fall when indeed it comes. Whenever that is. Continue reading “10 Reasons I’m Glad it’s Fall”
