And So It Goes

Hip Hip Hooray! Our debt has been discharged! That’s right The Harvey Family Bankruptcy is finally OVER!!! We went to court on Wednesday, for what turned out to be the most anticlimactic 7 minutes of my life. We were so nervous, and our lawyer (God love the guy) had us expecting this very lengthy and detailed procedure. Nope, he asked us a few generic questions, and gave us his sympathies for both being self employed right now (during these trying economic times). After that he simply said “You’re excused”. It was so fast that we just kind of sat there for a second. We couldn’t believe that was it. I called our lawyer the next day and he sais “What are you callin me for, You’re done!”. Then he confirmed that our case had been approved and our debt had been discharged. YAY! I’m just happy to say, it’s over. Chapter over.

So I wrote my first blog post for JamsBio’s blog, check it and leave me some comments!

I heard something HORRIBLE in MSNBC. A story about this woman in Atlanta who passed away after a car accident. She had been rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and after she passed away, SOMEONE stole her rings!!! They weren’t any rings of course, they were diamond and platinum and of course she had custom designed them herself to be a symbol of the love her and her husband shared while he was away as  a Navy Pilot. No he’s alone with their 4 and 1 year old sons, and someone has taken the one thing she had to leave her boys. I put myself in her shoes, and I would want my kids to have them, I mean it would be VERY important to me. There is a reward being offered of $25,000. I certainly hope that they get returned. How awful is that?

Was anyone watching Rock the Cradle? Yea, I know me neither, but I really wanted to be! I did catch episodes here and there, and was very pleased to see Chloe (Olivia Newton-John’s daughter) and Blaze (Dee Schneider’s son) were the finalists. Oh yea, and that Crosby kid (Kenny Loggin’s son) who I thought was nice, but no stage presence. I mean AT ALL. Zero, zilch, nada. Yet somehow, he won? Really ? First C. Thomas Howell has resorted to doing card tricks and now a non presence on the stage wins over two very unique and electric performers? Really? 

By the by, for those of who interested in the cosmic happenings over at JamsBio, might be interested to know that my brother’s old girlfriend is moving back to CA and they’re going to be together! You can read all about the very magical, yet true story here,

JamsBio: Working Fate’s Magic

I registered for school this week, and am taking my assessment tests tomorrow. My immediate plan is just to get my associate teacher certificate, so i can teach pre-school. But I’m going to take advantage of the First-5 program (pays people who work with kids ages 0-5 to go to school) which tries to steer you towards getting your AA. I’m nervous about the assessment, it’s been soooo long since I’ve taken any kind of test. EEEK. Wish me luck…

Hello May

First and foremost of course, update on my dad. the oncologists have decided he is at Stage 2. This is positive news. On the 12th of this month he will begin a very aggressive treatment consisting of Chemo and Radiation at the same time. This will be in a world AWFUL, but we have every reason to believe that this will do the job. We are remaining positive, confident, and diligent in our prayers & good thoughts.

On a much lighter note, the Harvey family bankruptcy begins it’s final chapter this Wednesday when we FINALLY attend Bankruptcy court. We are very excited to be coming to the end of this saga. Hopefully it will end well. Now if only that stupid economic stimulus money will come so we can catch up on all the bills we fell behind on to pay for the stupid bankruptcy…

And even lighter than that, today Patrick & I went to see IRON MAN!!!! Yay!! It was so awesome. Robert Downey Jr. is the BEST SUPERHERO EVER! He’s my new hero. I love him. I’m obsessed, and madly in love with Robert Downey Jr. Patrick loved it too, and we had a great time. Best date I’ve had in years! Jon Favreau has done a great job for Marvel. I truly think that they’re new movie franchise will do well. Especially if they continue with inspired director and casting choices like they made with Iron Man.

Oh, TV. I’m shamed to admit that I watched VH1′s new celebreality show, Celebracadaba. VH1, you should be ashamed. First the Kid Star show, and now this? And C. Thomas Howell? Is this really all that’s out there for you? Really? If so, it’s a mad mad world. Man Up C. Thomas. Man Up, and ditch VH1 NOW! Remember, you’re a WOLVERINE man! WOLVERINE! 

Lost is FINALLY back, and keeping me up waaaaay too late. It’s too good to be on that late.

A Pretty Good Day..

Well today was just that, a pretty good day. We finally got a call form our lawyer that (insert drum roll please) WE HAVE A COURT DATE!! Yay! May 7th at 10:30 AM the next (and hopefully final) chapter of the Harvey Family Bankruptcy 2008 will begin! Boy, you know you’re burned out when you’re so desperate for a break that you look forward to a day in bankruptcy court….

I just got back from dinner with an old dear dear dear friend at Chevy’s. There is nothing that rejuvenates you better than dinner with an old gal pal! It was great to just chill and gossip and catch up, with no kids running around and just being me. Very nice. Next time she’s here in Cali we’re going to do it again. 

This kind of brings me to my new thing I’m doing on Sundays. I’m making it a point to call an old friend every Sunday. This may seem strange, but I never get a chance to chat with my girls, so I’m making a point to get a good girl chat in once a week (no my mom & sister do not count, I talk to them everyday). It’s good for the soul, ya know?

I have decided that I’m going back to school in the fall to get my ECE units to teach pre-school. I think I’ll be more than ready to stop doing daycare once Cheyanne starts kindergarten, so I’m trying to make a plan now. I love being home with my own kids, but I think 2 more years of these 11 hour days with other people’s kids is about all I have left in me… I love em all, but man I’m exhausted these days.

Just Chillin after too much Easter Candy, and WAAAY Too Much Cake!!

Today was Patrick’s 5th birthday! Unbelievable. It’s sooo hard to imagine that he was born exactly 5 years ago today. Life before seems like a lifetime ago. He’s such a little doll. The other day he got very upset after pre-school. He was CRYING and very upset (he was tired and had not taken a nap, so that did add to the drama I will admit) but through his very dramatic cries told us about how he was upset with his friends, the boys, at school. He said they kept wanted to chase the girls and be mean, and he was trying to stop them but they wouldn’t listen to him. They wanted him to chase the girls too, but he didn’t want to be mean. His boys got mad at him for it. It was all very upsetting for him. I felt bad for him that his friends were mad that he didn’t want to tease the girls. But than I started thinking that the boy we’re raising, has this strong of an opinion on being mean to girls at this age. AND that as upset as he was that his friends were mad, he didn’t give in to them. How frickin awesome is that? He’s going to be quite a man.

The party went well. A good turn out. My brother & niece were there, which was just about the best present Patrick could’ve asked for. He loves them a lot. I wish they lived closer. We need to make it a point to make a weekly call to them. Sometimes keeping in contact with family and old friends seem hard, but man is there any other piece of technology easier to use than the phone? Nope.

Other musings this week, anyone watch American Idol? Beatles? Really? As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not really watching this season. But I watched enough of the last two weeks to say, FOR SHAME!!! I couldn’t have said it better than Joel over at The Soup did,
”Congratulations, Yoko Ono, assassins, cancer, and one-legged gold diggers: You’re no longer the worst thing to happen to the Beatles.”

Has anyone seen Pop Fiction????? OMG! It is soo funny! It’s stars (I’ve seen Paris, Avril Lavigne, and David Spade) who basically punk the paparazzi. They set up the paparazzi, by orchestrating an incident (that is totally staged) and see how long before it hits the tabloids. Avril put on a “baby hump” and went with her guy to a baby store. The next day pictures of her “pregnant” belly were plastered. Take that stalkarzzi! Better think before you snap…

It seems fitting to have this show happen after the tabloids revealed Lisa Marie’s pregnancy before she wanted to reveal it. Have you heard this? The tabloids ran all this about her gaining all this weight, only for it to turn out she’s pregnant. Funny that this all happened as Dancing With The Stars was about to premier though. Ya know, starring Miss Priscilla? Dancing With The Stars…hmmm. Don’t you think that maybe they’re using the term “stars” kind of loosely these days? Just asking…

I can hear the chocolate cake in my kitchen calling to me….HELP! I’m sooooo addicted to chocolate. I really need to crack down on the chocolate obsession. I was good for so long, and now ick. Maybe it’s the holidays. I need to get back on Weight Watchers….It’s either that or start smoking again. Since I’m going on 6 years, that would just be a tragedy to start back up now.

Oh yea, Bankruptcy news!!! We signed the papers today! FINALLY! Senile old bankruptcy lawyer finally got it all set and is going to file on Tuesday (Hey, when did the day after Easter become a holiday? Did I miss a memo?). Now we play the waiting game, and see what the trustee says. Keep your fingers crossed.

That’ll have to do for now. I’m burned out from a VERY long day. Happy Easter everybody!
